Basketball trophies: how this page works

There is one dedicated design, the Utopia Basketball Award, and eleven multi-sport trophies that carry a basketball centre. That gives you a real choice of height. The Spirit Cup starts at 115mm for a junior team, and the Star Gazer Tower goes up to 400mm for a tournament winner, both with the same centre. If you prefer the net to the ball, there is a Basketball Net centre too.

Awards a basketball team can give

Basketball has a handy set of ready-made award names, and players already know them:

  • MVP, or Most Valuable Player, for your top award
  • Top Scorer, with a points total on the plate
  • Best Defender, for the player who never gets a mention in the match report
  • Most Improved Player
  • Rookie of the Year, for a first-season player
  • Coach's Award, for effort and attitude

Sizing for a squad of ten to twelve

Only five play at a time, but every squad member should go home with a trophy. Use the Saltire or the Utopia at one height for the squad, then a Star Gazer Tower at 300mm for MVP. Pick the Black & Gold tower to sit alongside the Utopia. A Halo at 230mm is another route, because its square plate holds more wording than most.

Basketball plate wording

Three short lines suit most basketball plates, and the slash below marks each one:

  • MVP / Jordan Ellis / U16 Boys
  • Top Scorer / Amara Diallo / 214 Points
  • Rookie of the Year / Leo Marsh
  • Tournament Winners / Summer Slam 2026

Tournaments and school sides

For a one-day tournament, you usually need a set for the winners, a set for the runners-up and a Player of the Tournament award. Two teams of ten plus one extra is 21 trophies, which reaches the 6% band. Schools can use the same approach, and our schools page covers ex-VAT figures. Lower-cost options are in trophies under £10, and the engraving page explains how the live preview shows your plate as you type. A cup for the league winners can come from trophy cups.

Basketball Trophies: your questions

Is there a dedicated basketball trophy?
There is one dedicated design, the Utopia Basketball Award, with a ball and hoop at 185mm or 195mm. The other trophies here are multi-sport designs, with the basketball centre already fitted in the preview.
What can I use for an MVP award?
Use something taller than the squad trophies. A Star Gazer Tower at 300mm or a Zandor at 355mm stands out on a table. Put MVP on the plate with the name and season, and you are done.
How do the centres work on basketball trophies?
Many trophies have a round recess for a 1 inch centre. Arrive from this page and a basketball centre is already in the preview. You can change it to Basketball Net, and the centre is included in the price.
Can a school order just one or two?
Yes. There is no minimum order, so one trophy is fine. Quantity discount starts at 5 trophies, and a school can see the ex-VAT price as well as the price including VAT.
