Trophy Wording Ideas
Good trophy wording is short. Two or three short lines suit most plates, and the award usually goes first. Here are layouts by award, sport and occasion that you can copy and change. Each slash marks a new line on the plate.
Start with your plate size
Check the plate size for your height on the product page before you write anything. A 50 x 16mm plate holds far less than a 75 x 25mm plate, which has more than twice the area. On a 50 x 16mm plate, keep to two or three short lines. If you need four lines, or a long club name, choose a trophy with a larger plate.

Six tips that help
- Put the award on the top line, as that is what people read first.
- Use initials if a name will not fit: J. Morris rather than Jonathan Morris.
- Write a season as 2026-27, which saves space over "Season 2026 to 2027".
- Leave out words the trophy already shows. A golden boot does not need the word football.
- Mind your apostrophes. Players' Player, Manager's Player and Parents' Player are the ones to watch.
- Type your wording into the live preview on the trophy's page. If it looks tight, cut a word.
The preview is a guide, as we set the final size and spacing by hand. If your wording is long for a plate, we check with you.
