Manager's Player Trophies

Manager's Player trophies for the one award that is entirely the coach's own choice, with engraving included in the price. These seven designs include the titled Allstar Manager's Player, a Respect trophy for attitude and effort, and male and female figures. There is also a dugout trophy, if the players want to thank the manager.

What this award is really for

A Manager's Player should not be a second Player of the Year. It works best when it goes to someone the stats would miss: the lad who played three positions, the girl who never missed training, the full-back who kept turning up after a bad run. If you say why on the night, in a sentence or two, it often gets the biggest cheer of the evening.

Trophies that suit the award

  • Infinity Football Respect Trophy: 105mm, 125mm or 140mm, with ribbons reading Attitude, Respect, Effort and Pride. If the award is about character, this says so without words.
  • Allstar Manager's Player: titled in the design at 145mm or 185mm, and it takes a centre.
  • Gravity: a ball held by two boots, 160mm to 260mm, in gold or silver.
  • Pegasus Fire: a ball on a flame swoosh at 165mm, 190mm or 215mm.
  • Victorem: male or female figure, 160mm to 260mm.

Height is a matter of taste here. Many managers go one step below Player of the Year, which keeps the order of the night clear.

When there are two coaches

Watch the apostrophe. One manager means Manager's Player. Two joint managers means Managers' Player. A Coach's Award and a Coaches' Award follow the same rule. It is an easy thing to get wrong on a plate, and it stays on the shelf for years.

Trophies for the manager

Volunteers run grassroots football, and they rarely get a thank-you they can keep. The Manager & Coach Football Trophy shows a manager and players on a dugout bench at 215mm. Parents can club together for it, and it makes a good surprise at the end of the night.
