6 trophies. Engraving included on all of them.

Budgeting for a season of matches

A weekly award adds up, so do the sum before you start. A 22-game season at the Mini Utopia price of £4.85 comes to £106.70, and 22 trophies sit in the 6% band, which brings it down to £100.30. Split between 14 families, that is about 33p each per game.

Which trophy to pick

  • Mini Utopia: 100mm, a boot and ball on a silver shield, and the lowest cost option at £4.85.
  • Astra Football Boots & Ball: 95mm, 110mm or 135mm, from £6.25.
  • Eclipse: 165mm or 185mm, a ball trophy from £6.75.
  • Player of the Match Football Trophy: 120mm at £7.25, with the title in big letters as part of the design.
  • Thunder: 150mm at £7.50, with six finishes and a bigger plate.
  • Infinity Respect: 105mm and up, for clubs that reward attitude.

How to engrave ahead of the season

You will not know the winner in advance, so do not try to put a name on the plate. There are two good approaches. One is to engrave the team and season, leaving the plate generic, so every trophy in the kit bag is ready to go. The other is to engrave each plate with the fixture and date, which works if your fixture list is settled. A list is fine, as each plate can be different. The live stock figure shows how many of each size we can send, so check it before committing a whole season to one design.

Plate layouts, with the slash as the line ending:

  • Player of the Match / Riverside U10 / 2026-27
  • Player of the Match / v Ashby Town / 12 Oct 2026
  • Player of the Tournament / Summer Cup 2026
  • Cup Final / Player of the Match

Keeping it fair

With younger teams, keep a tally in the notes of your phone so every child wins at least once. Some managers ask the opposition coach to pick, which takes the awkwardness out of it. Others let the players vote. For a long-term view of how this fits with a team's end-of-season awards, read how many trophies you need, and football trophies by age group suggests heights. Our junior football trophies and trophies under £10 have more low-cost designs.

Player of the Match Trophies: your questions

How can I plan the cost of weekly awards?
Multiply your fixtures by the trophy price, then take off the discount. Twenty-two Mini Utopia trophies at £4.85 comes to £106.70, and the 6% band reduces that to £100.30 with engraving included.
Can I order before I know the winners?
Yes. Engrave the team and season, or each fixture and date, and leave the name off. Every plate can be different at no extra charge, so a fixture list works just as well as a list of names.
Does this award need the words on the plate?
Not on the Player of the Match Football Trophy, as it has the title in large letters in the design. On the other five, put Player of the Match on the top line.
Who should choose the player of the match?
Many grassroots teams ask the opposition manager, which keeps things fair and avoids any awkwardness. With younger age groups, keep a tally so that every child has a turn over the season.
